Understand Everything about Dermatitis
Dermatitis, also known as eczema, is an inflammation on skin that involves itchy rash or red and dry skin. Skin affected by dermatitis develops rashes caused by jewellery or soaps that makes you feel uncomfortable. It’s not contagious and can result into blisters or painful cracks if not treated properly.
There are three types of contact dermatitis:
- Allergic contact dermatitis- when the skin develops an allergic reaction after being exposed to a foreign substance
- Irritant contact dermatitis- when the skin comes in contact with a toxic material like detergent, bleaching powder etc.
- Photo-contact dermatitis- when the active ingredients in sunscreen are exposed to sunlight and affects the skin.
