Also known as painful periods or menstrual cramps, dysmenorrhoea is pain during periods. The symptoms mostly last for at least 3 days in adults as well as young girls. It is one of the most common complaints in young and adult women.
Causes:
- Fibroids
- A sexually transmitted infection
- Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID)
- An ovarian cyst or tumour
Symptoms:
- Pain in the lower abdomen during menstruation
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Diarrhoea
- Light-headedness
- Headache
- Fatigue
