Pain that originates from outside the ear is called otalgia. There are two types – primary and secondary. It is common children, with children below 5 years at a risk if they are also suffering from respiratory problems.
Causes:
- Ear infections – outer, inner and middle
- Airplane pressure
- A perforated eardrum
- Excess earwax
- Dental problems
Symptoms:
- Ear pain
- Impaired hearing
- Fluid drainage
- Sense of fullness in the ear
