Bone Health checkup panel
What is the significance of Bone Health Panel?
Our body needs Vitamin D for the proper absorption of calcium and phosphate from our intestines. This calcium and phosphate is then used for maintaining and building strong bones and teeth.
In a complex process, the vitamin D, along with two other proteins binds to special regions on our DNA which control the activity of Vitamin D. Abnormal genes may lead to highly reduced activity of Vitamin D, leading to low levels of calcium and phosphate in the blood. This ultimately leads to soft, weak bones that are prone to fracture.
The Bone Health Support Panel analyses these genes that determine the proper activity of Vitamin D. Through nutritional intervention, deficits can be taken care of.
