Causes of Alopecia
Alopecia also known as spot baldness usually begins when a bunch of hair strands start falling out thereby resulting into smooth, hairless patch. Alopecia cannot be cured but it can be treated. It is a highly unpredictable disease where the hair follicles become small and does not grow hair above the skin surface. It usually begins with a few strands of hair falling out, gradually resulting into total round and smooth hairless patch on the scalp. Apart from the scalp, a person could lose hair from other parts of the body as well.
It can cause different types of hair loss. These include Alopecia Diet, Alopecia Totalis and Alopecia Universalis. The first time a patch appears, it is a bit difficult to trace its progress. It could either result into loss of hair on body, eyebrows or head, or at times more than just one patch on head.
